Our team was commissioned to design a comprehensive lighting, building system, and automation system for a private luxury residence garage housing an exclusive collection of 15 supercars. The client, a passionate automotive enthusiast who frequently entertains fellow collectors, required a sophisticated lighting solution to showcase his vehicles and create an immersive environment for socializing and the appreciation of automotive craftsmanship.
The garage accommodates up to 15 vehicles with custom flooring and wall treatments. Our design objective was to transform this functional space into a gallery-like setting where each vehicle could be individually highlighted while maintaining the flexibility to adjust the ambiance for different occasions and uses.
Client Requirements
The client’s vision for the garage lighting system included several key requirements:
1. Individual vehicle highlighting with the ability to focus on specific cars when showcasing them to guests
2. Dynamic lighting scenes that could transition between different moods and purposes
3. Integration with a building automation system for seamless control
4. Integration with a building automation system for security, comfort, and energy efficiency
5. Special light effect on each area
6. Preservation of paint color accuracy and enhancement of metallic finishes
7. Energy-efficient solutions with minimal heat emission to protect the vehicles
8. Discreet fixture placement that wouldn’t detract from the vehicles themselves
9. Adequate task lighting for maintenance activities
10. Elegant ambient lighting for social gatherings and events
11. Voice-activated and mobile app control capabilities
